Measuring Disclaimer

It is the responsibility of the customer to take the measurements for their desired window coverings. If the customer follows the measuring instructions as outlined on the website of Ashademodern.com the window coverings will fit impeccably.

All of our products are custom made to order so you must follow our measuring and installation instructions. When you follow our instructions we guarantee your blinds will fit perfectly! It is equally important that you review your email order confirmation for accuracy. Of course we realize that mistakes may occur and if we make a mistake on your order we will either repair or remake it at no charge to you. If you make a mistake in measuring or ordering please contact us. Depending on the type of error you may return the product to the factory for alteration or we will have it remade at a discount. Any cost incurred for alterations due to customer's mistakes, including shipping, will be the responsibility of the customer. 

Color Disclaimer

Due to the variances among computer monitors the depictions of the colors you see may not be a true representation of the actual color whether it be painted or stained. Therefore, because these limitations restrict our ability to present completely accurate color representations as well as the quality of the product we recommend you complete the following:

  1. Make sure you order samples of the exact product you are purchasing as color names are not the same color from product to product as they are produced by different manufacturers.

  2. To ensure that all of your blinds have the best possible match, we strongly suggest ordering all of your blinds or shades at the same time so the wood is colored from the same dye lot.

  3. The finished product of stained woods may vary slightly from samples due to dye lots and wood grain.

  4. Because our products are custom made and cannot be returned, you must order samples for exact color match.

If a discrepancy arises with the color or measurement of your window coverings or any other reason, A Shade Modern requires that a digital picture be taken that depicts the discrepancy. At its sole discretion, A Shade Modern may require additional pictures to be taken if the variance is not portrayed clearly. These digital pictures will enable A Shade Modern to expedite the process with our manufacturer.

Time of Completion

A Shade Modern makes every effort to provide a quality product in a reasonable time. There are, however, delays from suppliers' availability of materials and shipping. Due to these unforeseen delays, A Shade Modern accepts no responsibility for such delays and cannot be held liable for estimated dates of completion. Production times for each product vary but typical production times are five to 15 business days. Please allow between two and three weeks for your order to arrive. A Shade Modern will not be held responsible for any charges incurred for customers scheduling appointments with installation companies. In the event the customer incurs any fees for installation caused by items on backorder or delays due to the shipping company, A Shade Modern will not responsible. 

Freight Claims Policy

Upon the arrival of your order, immediately open and inspect it for any possible manufacturing defects or shipping damage. If you find the product damaged or defective keep all packaging material as well as all shades/blinds and parts and contact A Shade Modern as soon as possible! We will then require images of any damage or defective products. All remakes must be made according to the specifications given at the time of the original order. No exceptions! Any orders having defected from the manufacturer or the freight carrier will be replaced or repaired as long as you contact us within seven days of receipt of your order! Make sure to contact us within the specified seven days or the defects or damage will be replaced or corrected at your expense. If the product requires replacement, you will be given a Return Authorization Number (RGA) and shipping address to return the product. All returns must have an RGA number for a refund or exchange. Keep your original boxes and packaging materials in the event you need to return your blinds, A Shade Modern cannot provide packaging materials. Please inspect your shipment before installation. A Shade Modern is not responsible for any installation fees incurred from an outside provider. 

In the event that your window coverings come damaged due to distress during shipping or manufacturing, please be advised that A Shade Modern Customer Service may require at its sole discretion that a digital picture be taken of the damaged product and sent to our customer service department. A Shade Modern may ask for a digital picture to expedite the process of coordinating either a remake or a repair of your window covering. Without a picture A Shade Modern Customer Service Department can not coordinate either a remake or a repair, without having the original product being sent back to A Shade Moderns manufacturer. If a customer is not willing to comply with this request, then it will be the customer’s responsibility to pay for a remake or the repair until the damaged product is sent back to our manufacturing facility where the product was made. After this, A Shade Modern will credit back the customer for the remake or repair.

If an order is shipped to an incorrect or undeliverable address due to the customer's mistake, the customer is responsible for postage to re-ship the blinds. A Shade Modern is not responsible for mistakes made by the shipping company. 

Order Changes and Cancellations

All sales are final, so be sure to double-check the width, length, desired fabric/wood model code, and all options before placing your order. We cannot guarantee any changes after placing your order but will do our best. If you wish to cancel your order or make a change, the request must be made with support@ashademodern.com Customer Service within the same business day. To ensure proper handling, all order changes or cancellations must be made over the phone after which you will be required to submit the changes or cancellation in writing via email to the assigned customer service agent you speak with over the phone. In most cases, production begins within 24 hours from the time the order is placed. We will do everything we can to assist your needs. However, each cancellation or change is contingent upon our ability to cancel or change the order with our manufacturer. Orders may not be canceled due to delays in shipping. 

A Shade Modern Customer Service Department will issue an authorization number to you if the item(s) can be canceled or changed.

Discounts, coupons, and promotions are final at the time of sale. Discounts may not be adjusted after the final sale is made. Only one promotion may be used per order. 

Return Policy

Since all products are custom made to order for each customer, they cannot be returned except for warranty repair. We understand that your window coverings are a substantial investment. If you're not satisfied with your window coverings, Ashademodern.com will make every effort to realize your complete satisfaction. Shades/blinds may not be returned due to mistakes made by customers measurement, incorrect ordering, stained woods and fabrics that vary slightly due to dye lots or wood grain, shipping issues out of our control, etc. Products within the same room should be ordered at the same time to ensure proper matching. A Shade Modern must be notified within seven days from date of receipt for any problems and A Shade Modern has the option to remake or repair the existing shades/blinds.

All returns must be given a Return Authorization Number(RGA) and shipping address to return the product. Keep your original boxes and packaging materials in the event you need to return your blinds, A Shade Modern cannot provide packaging materials. All returns must be shipped to A Shade Modern in new condition within 30 days of receipt, preceded by prior authorization that has been accepted by A Shade Modern Customer Service Department. Dispute Resolution

If A Shade Modern cannot resolve a dispute involving any of the following: Shipping, Policies regarding measuring your order, Online Ordering and Customer Satisfaction Guarantee, both parties agree to settle any disputes through Arbitration. All matters regarding any disputes will be settled by an arbitrator from the pool of retired judges from the American Arbitration Association. United States Law will apply in all cases involving arbitration and the prevailing party will be responsible for the reasonable costs and attorney fees. This section does not cover all your rights on arbitration. If you would like to find out more regarding your rights please feel free to do so. 

Warranty

Limited one and five-year Warranty - This warranty is offered through the manufacturer(s) to the original purchaser of the blinds and covers any defects in materials or workmanship for the above stated period on products purchased through A Shade Modern, however, A Shade Modern will act as the liaison in coordinating any warranty issues between the manufacturer and the customer. 

A Shade Modern reserves, at its discretion, the right to repair, replace or refund any blinds found defective. This will be your sole remedy under this warranty. Shipping for warranty issues past 60 days from the date of purchase is the responsibility of the customer to and from the repair facility. The packaging on return shipments is the responsibility of the customer. 

In the event that there are multiple products in the same room, only the defective product will be repaired or replaced. Every effort will be made to match the original specifications. If this is not possible, we will match the product as closely as possible.

This warranty does not apply to any parts which fail due to accident, alteration, improper use, abuse, neglect, normal wear, and color fading to sunlight, direct exposure to salt air or improper cleaning. All fabrics can lose original intensity after long exposure to the sun. When left for extended periods in direct sunlight, plastics tend to yellow and crack. All cords will eventually wear out. Some slight warpage, as well as natural variations in color and grain effect, are normal with a wood product and are not considered defects. Also, some fading and/or discoloration of the finish may occur over time. This is common with man-made coatings and is not considered a defect. 

This warranty is in place of all other express warranties, whether written or oral. 

Privacy & Security

Security

At A Shade Modern, your security is our top priority. We use all the latest technology to ensure your information is secure. We also do not save any of your credit card information. Our employees do not have access to this information.

Online Privacy Policy

There are two types of information that we collect. They are traffic data and personal information. 

  • Traffic Data - Our website automatically tracks collects the following data when a potential customer visits our website; IP address, type of web browser, domain server, and the type of computer. This information does not personally identify you, however, it is valuable information that helps us to better market our website and improve your experience on the site.

  • Personal Information Collected – Our site does require you to provide us with information that personally identifies you. When this is done you will be entitled to access certain services on our website. For example, this information may include; your email address, your name and mailing address. Also, we may send you a survey to fill out to help identify areas in which we may improve.

Uses of Personal Information

Your Contact Data will enable us to better respond to your requests and send you any necessary information about our company, including our products and services, or to contact you. 

Confidential Information

Except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy, we will ensure that your Personal Information is kept private and will not share it with third parties, except for such disclosure becomes necessary to; comply with a court order or other legal formality; protect our rights or property.

Modifications and Changes to the Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to change at any time and without notice, to add to, update or modify this Privacy Policy. This will occur simply by posting change, update or modification on our website. These changes and/or modifications will be effective upon posting on the web site.
